Alfonso XIII

  ALFONSO XIII   1902- 1931 

 

 

. Primo de Rivera organised a coup and suspended the Constitution.

. Primo de Rivera became a dictator from 1923 to 1930 supported by the king

 

. Spain went bankrupt under the dictatorship and Alfonso forced him to resign

. People no longer trusted Alfonso XIII

. Republicans won the elections and the monarchy was abolished

. Alfonso XIII voluntarily left Spain  in April 1931
